Sitejet is a complete, end-to-end system for building and managing beautiful websites for yourself or clients. The website builder offers dozens of tools and features to make the website design process as easy and fast as possible. You’ll be able to make considerable cuts to the time it takes to design a site using Sitejet’s templates, shortcuts, and automation. The platform also includes project management features, making for a seamless transition between team members and clients.

Sitejet is created for different types of users, from savvy users to professional web developers. You can use the simple drag-and-drop interface to build a site without looking at a line of code. Sitejet generates clean, simple, perfectly-formatted code that’s easy to work with. But if you’re not scared of code, you can jump in as well and add your own custom HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. You’ll see what it looks like in Sitejet’s live preview.

If you’re working with clients, Sitejet offers great features to allow you to coordinate revisions, include client feedback, and manage assets and other resources inside the app. It makes for incredibly easy client communication.

Templates

Out of the box, Sitejet comes with 80+ custom templates. You’ll find an example for most of the types of websites you could design, from restaurants to museums and everything in between. There are even a few “coming soon” templates and a blank page you can use as a canvas for your own creations.

Sitejet templates

Each template is unique and has a very different look and feel. Plus, they’re all new—every template has been designed or updated in the last year or so—so you know they’re all up-to-date with current styles and trends.

There are a few extra features within Sitejet’s templates that are worth looking at.

First of all, you can create your own templates based on the type of sites you usually design. If you cater to a specific type of clientele, you can also create a custom template that you can use over and over again.

Second, Sitejet comes with pre-built blocks. These function like templates but are used for smaller sections. They include all types of website elements, from dividers to sign-up forms, to maps and a host of other uses.

Sitejet pre-built blocks

These make it easy to create an entirely new website from scratch or to edit an existing template. You can also create custom blocks (such as a “site created by” bar) that you can quickly drag-and-drop into any site you create.

And finally, Sitejet has a really neat tool that dovetails nicely with its prebuilt templates: an automatic website generator. Just enter a few details about the type of business you’re designing for, the features they need, the logo and contact information, and it will create a beautiful site automatically based on your content.

The Editor

Once you’ve chosen the template, you’re ready to start designing in Sitejet’s editor. This is really where the magic happens and where the Sitejet development team has clearly put a lot of effort into improving things.

First off, you’ll notice that most of the screen is the live editor. It’s intuitive and easy to use and makes it simple to switch around elements and blocks until it looks exactly like you want it to. Just hover over any element, and you can change the text, colors, and design elements.

At the top, you can change whether you’d like to view your website on a desktop, tablet, or mobile phone device. Plus, you can change between different common devices (such as iPad Pro or Samsung Galaxy S9) and choose between portrait or landscape views.

One of the best features of Sitejet is that you can view client information, feedback, and edit requests and to-dos from right inside the design editor itself. That means no more task-switching or juggling multiple programs at once—you can view everything in one streamlined interface.

Finally, Sitejet comes with a built-in website inspector that alerts you of easy-to-miss errors, such as broken links.

Client Collaboration

Sitejet’s client collaboration features are a standout of the platform.

Most client design projects involve lots of back-and-forth steps, cluttered files, and project management tools that don’t sync perfectly with the website creation project. All that changes when you use Sitejet for client website projects.

When you log into the design manager portal, you’ll see a list of all the websites you’re currently working on. You can set the stage for each website, from preparation to publish. Sitejet automatically tracks your time during each stage, too, so you can automatically calculate billable hours inside the app.

This screen also allows you to add to-dos and client feedback, as well as assign those tasks to other members of your team (on the Team and Agency plans). These to-dos come directly from the client through the client feedback feature.

You don’t have to deal with back-and-forth emails since clients can comment and mark up the website (without making any changes to the live site). Sitejet also includes a shared file management system where clients can drop new images or resources for you to use.

You can also designate certain areas of the website—like a recent events page or weekly menu—to be editable by the client. They can change what they have to change but can’t destroy the whole page.

In addition, you can quickly and easily manage client mail accounts. Whether you need to transfer existing mailboxes or create new inboxes with a client’s domain, you can do it all inside Sitejet.

Finally, Sitejet comes with a portal created just for web designers. It shows the stage of your current websites, monthly recurring revenue, and upcoming change requests and to-dos.

Support

Sitejet has built a great level of support into the platform, offering a range of channels through which you can get dedicated help..

First, Sitejet includes detailed documentation for any type of basic process you want to design. You can learn how to do just about anything using these simple how-to guides.

Next, there are walkthrough videos that explain different design techniques you can use Sitejet for.

Another powerful support feature of Sitejet is the Slack channel. As a member, you’ll be invited and can post questions, issues, or feature requests and get one-on-one responses from the Sitejet team.

This is helpful as you’re directly communicating with the people who designed the very features you’re looking to use.

In addition, the editor comes complete with tons of helpful tips. The keyboard cheat sheet contains all the shortcuts you can use, and a comprehensive set of help guides are available right inside the editor.

Finally, you can contact the team through chat or email support on the main website.

Hosting/Domain

Sitejet includes hosting for your site with any paid plan and allows unlimited storage, email accounts, and bandwidth for the sites you use (within reason, of course).

That means that if you get a huge spike of traffic, your site won’t crash like it might on other limited hosts.

Another feature of Sitejet that some web builders lack is the ability to export your website, which is available on the Team and Agency plans.

Hosting on Sitejet also comes with top-of-the-line security, including SSL, CDN, and protection against DDoS attacks. It’s also continuously updated automatically to remain secure against hackers or other threats.

If you’re looking to add a custom domain, you can connect one you already own or buy one from Sitejet. Rates for domains on Sitejet are comparable to most other domain registrars.

  • .com costs $8.99 USD/year
  • .de is the cheapest at $7.82 USD/year
  • .io is the most expensive at $55.91 USD/year

These are available on any paid plan with Sitejet.

Pricing/Plans

Sitejet has three plans: Professional, Team, and Agency. With each plan, you get all of Sitejet’s design and editing features and one free hosted website. You can purchase other websites to keep online for $5/month when paid annually.

The Team and Agency plans come with a few extra features, including website export, white-label features, and the ability to add team members. You can have up to three team members on the Team plan, and up to 10 on the Agency plan.

sitejet plans

With everything these plans include, it’s a great deal. Just the hosting cost alone for one site would be more than the cost of the Professional plan, not to mention the software you’d need to design the site and work with clients.
